Logo Usage Rules
This page applies to the DIVEROID parent-brand signature and wordmark. Product wordmarks and their registered optional motion follow the product logo guide and official production-file manifest.
Quick Answer
- Light background (white, light colors, documents) →
diveroid-signature-color-transparent.png or diveroid-wordmark-color-transparent.png
- Dark background (deep violet #201748, dark photos) →
diveroid-signature-white-transparent.png or diveroid-wordmark-white-transparent.png
- Deck cover / company intro = signature (turtle symbol + text); tight spaces (web header, document footer, email) = wordmark (text only)
- File location: Official Logo Gallery — the 8 marked PNGs and 4 vector sources (.ai) are official.
- To browse logos visually → Logo Gallery (shows all 8 on sample backgrounds)
- Drawing or recoloring the logo is forbidden. Always use the original files as-is.
Which File to Use
| Background / Use | Signature (symbol + text) | Wordmark (text only) |
|---|
| White / light | diveroid-signature-color-transparent.png | diveroid-wordmark-color-transparent.png |
| Deep violet / dark | diveroid-signature-white-transparent.png | diveroid-wordmark-white-transparent.png |
| B/W print / contracts / invoices | diveroid-signature-black-transparent.png | diveroid-wordmark-black-transparent.png |
| Grayscale documents / checking a color piece in black and white | diveroid-signature-monotone-transparent.png | diveroid-wordmark-monotone-transparent.png |
| True single-color production (engraving, embroidery, stamps, single-ink) | Black or white asset — after checking the vendor's process | Black or white asset — after checking the vendor's process |
- Signature: where the brand is introduced. Deck covers, website hero, company intro, partner proposals, press releases.
- Wordmark: where space is tight but the name must be visible. Web header, app header, email header, document footer, alongside partner logos.
- Do not type "DIVEROID" in a product UI header — use the wordmark file.
- The monotone asset is a grayscale image containing several gray levels. It is not built for one-ink processes such as engraving, embroidery, stamps, or single-ink printing. Use it for grayscale documents and black-and-white output checks.
- For single-color production: (1) confirm the process with the vendor first (single ink? engraved/embossed? one thread color?). (2) Hand over the supplied black or white asset as-is, matched to the background. (3) Do not recolor, redraw, or trace an outline version — check with jay if you need something else.
- There is no standalone symbol (turtle mark) file yet. If you need symbol-only, check with jay. Cropping from the signature is forbidden.
- There are 4 vector originals (.ai) in the logo gallery: signature color / signature black / wordmark color / wordmark black. (
diveroid-logo-03-legacy.ai is an older version — do not use it for new work.) Send these sources first for large-format printing or external vendors.
- SVG is not yet available. Export from Illustrator remains pending. [verification needed] Until then, work from the .ai sources and the PNGs.
Background Rules
Good backgrounds:
- Clean white or very light sky blue (#EEF9FF)
- Solid deep violet (#201748) + white logo
- Solid brand color stripe
On photos:
- Place white logo on dark, calm areas. Color logo may work if the photo is bright and simple.
- Avoid complex areas (coral, fish, bubbles, equipment). If needed, place a dark translucent overlay first.
- The logo must not cover important content (faces, products).
Test: if the logo reads clearly at 100%, 50%, and phone size, it passes.
Minimum Size and Clear Space
Minimum size (do not use smaller):
| File | Screen min | Recommended | Print min |
|---|
| Signature | 160 px wide | 220 px wide | 35 mm wide |
| Wordmark | 120 px wide | 160 px wide | 25 mm wide |
Clear space (nothing else may enter this zone):
- The unit is the height of the capital "D" in the "DIVEROID" wordmark — not the size of the turtle symbol.
- Signature: 1× D height on all sides. Deck covers / press releases: 1.5×.
- Wordmark: 1× D height on all sides.
- No text, icons, photos, buttons, or other logos may enter this space.
Alongside partner logos:
- Keep at least 1× D height between logos. Align baselines where possible.
- Do not change DIVEROID logo colors to match a partner's palette.
Placement Guide
| Placement | Logo | Notes |
|---|
| Website header | Wordmark | Left-aligned, small and clear |
| Website hero | Signature or wordmark | Do not place both large |
| Website footer | Wordmark | |
| Product UI | Wordmark only — login, onboarding, settings | No large logo on dive log, camera, or map screens |
| Deck cover | Signature | Color on light, white on dark |
| Deck footer | Wordmark | Small but legible |
| Contracts / invoices | Wordmark black | |
Do not repeat the logo in every section of a page. Once or twice is enough.
Social Avatar
- No dedicated avatar file exists yet. Keep the current app icon image and check with jay if a new one is needed. [verification needed]
- Wordmark becomes illegible below 160 px — do not use it as an avatar.
- Before uploading a new avatar, confirm it is recognizable at 32 px, 48 px, and 96 px.
- Use the wordmark for banner/cover images.
Forbidden — All Prohibited
- Redrawing, tracing, simplifying the logo. Having AI create or modify it.
- Changing colors, adding shadows, glows, borders, gradients, or textures.
- Stretching, squishing, tilting, rotating, or cropping.
- Re-spacing the symbol and text. The signature is a single file.
- Extracting the logo from screenshots, app store images, or web pages. Always use the brand-kit originals.
- Using the triangular favicon (browser tab icon) as a logo. It is not a logo.
- Using the turtle symbol as a functional icon (map pin, AI badge, sync, speed, bullet point).
- Placing the logo on complex photos or charts without protection.
- Spinning or swimming logo animations. If motion is needed, a gentle fade-in is the limit.
Need a New Logo or Variation?
Three questions before publishing: (1) Are you making or altering the official logo? (2) Claiming safety or AI capability? (3) Legal/licensing involved? — Any "yes" → check with jay. All "no" → publish.
